Mega Eye Care Project

Objective: Our initiative aims to reduce “Avoidable Blindness” in India, where 12 million people suffer from treatable conditions like cataracts. We focus on providing free cataract surgeries and care to economically disadvantaged individuals, particularly in rural areas. The Anchor donor for this project is Rtn. Nitin Desai, chairman of Desai Brothers Ltd.

Progress: In collaboration with H.V. Desai Eye Hospital, the Poona Blind Men’s Association has performed more than 25,000 cataract surgeries.

Impact: This project has restored sight to many, improving their quality of life and independence, especially in underserved rural communities.

Conclusion: We are proud of exceeding our target, more than 25,000 successful surgeries completed. We remain committed to expanding this program and continuing our fight against avoidable blindness.
