Objective:
- Sponsor pediatric cardiac surgeries for children with congenital heart disease (CHD).
- Provide antenatal care to pregnant women, promoting maternal health and nutrition to prevent CHD.
- Reduce infant mortality among economically weaker sections in India.
Progress:
- The initiative is implemented through Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals in Palwal, Raipur, and Kharghar, specializing in pediatric cardiac care.
- Each surgery costs ₹1,50,000, covering preoperative tests, ICU care (if required), follow-ups, hospital stay, and meals—fully funded through donations.
- Antenatal care programs include screening camps, ultrasonography, health education, nutrition support, and training for ASHA and Anganwadi workers.
- Over 20,000 women have benefited from antenatal care services so far.
Impact of Past CHD Global Grant Projects:
- GG2122528 – 40 children saved, 230 pregnant women supported.
- GG2233899 – 81 children saved, 288 pregnant women supported.
- GG2352338 – 51 children saved, 170 pregnant women supported.
Current Goal:
- Provide life-saving CHD surgeries to 50 children from underprivileged backgrounds.
- Offer antenatal care to 170 pregnant women to ensure healthier pregnancies.
- Rotary will fund the entire cost to make these services completely free for beneficiaries.
