Gift of Life – CHD Surgery & Antenatal Care Initiative

Objective:

  • Sponsor pediatric cardiac surgeries for children with congenital heart disease (CHD).
  • Provide antenatal care to pregnant women, promoting maternal health and nutrition to prevent CHD.
  • Reduce infant mortality among economically weaker sections in India.

Progress:

  • The initiative is implemented through Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals in Palwal, Raipur, and Kharghar, specializing in pediatric cardiac care.
  • Each surgery costs ₹1,50,000, covering preoperative tests, ICU care (if required), follow-ups, hospital stay, and meals—fully funded through donations.
  • Antenatal care programs include screening camps, ultrasonography, health education, nutrition support, and training for ASHA and Anganwadi workers.
  • Over 20,000 women have benefited from antenatal care services so far.

Impact of Past CHD Global Grant Projects:

  • GG2122528 – 40 children saved, 230 pregnant women supported.
  • GG2233899 – 81 children saved, 288 pregnant women supported.
  • GG2352338 – 51 children saved, 170 pregnant women supported.

Current Goal:
