In an off-beat and refreshing twist to our traditional gatherings, 38 RCPC members, including President Brig Raja and the First Lady, came together on Sunday, February 9th, for an assimilation meeting that will be remembered for its warmth and vibrancy. The event saw a robust participation from all quarters—8 members of the ongoing Rotary Board, 6 members of the next Rotary year’s board, and 4 new members accompanied by their spouses.
The ingenious concept for this gathering was hatched by PP Rtn Uday Dharmadhikari, who recognized that previous assimilation meetings had received a rather lukewarm response, especially from new Rotarians. Determined to create an engaging platform , he set the stage for a meeting that blended business with a hearty dose of fun and camaraderie.
The venue PP Uday chose was the mezzanine floor of the iconic Koregaon Park Irani Restaurant, where the aroma of freshly brewed Irani chai, bun muska, samosas, and toast butter omelettes filled the air. As the clock struck 9 am, the room buzzed with energy, with RCPC members and their spouses engaging in lively discussions, sharing hearty laughs, and relishing the traditional fare.
Seasoned members offered their invaluable advice to new members on how to best use the Rotary platform for fellowship and community service , creating an environment that was as educational as it was enjoyable. The session truly epitomized the spirit of assimilation, ensuring that new members felt welcomed and inspired right from the start.
PP Uday was joined by PE Lekha Nair and Membership Director Raman Nanda, who together contributed for the event and orchestrated this new assimilation meeting record for RCPC.
PP Uday has not only set a high standard for future meetings but has also reaffirmed our commitment to fostering a culture of inclusivity and fellowship.
This gathering marks a promising start to a new era of engagement at RCPC, one where innovation meets tradition, and every member is empowered to contribute to the collective vision of Rotary.
