President's Message

RTN. BRIG. PK MURALIDHARAN RAJA

As we embark on a new Rotary Year, I am honored and excited to have been chosen as the 41st President of the prestigious Rotary Club of Pune Central (RCPC). It will be my endeavor and that of our dynamic Board of Directors 2024-25 to try and live up to the expectations and faith reposed in us by every member of the Club.

RCPC is looked up as a role model by the other Clubs in the District due to its ethos of pursuing high-value and critically meaningful projects which impact society and bring succor and relief to a large majority of the needy citizens of Pune. The Rotary Year 2024-25 promises to be one filled with purpose, collaboration, and meaningful impact as we continue our journey of service to the community.

'Magic of Rotary' being the Rotary theme for this year, emphasizes our commitment to the main focus areas such as disease prevention, education, water sanitation, environmental support, and community development. Together, we will strive to uphold the values of Rotary—service, integrity, diversity, and fellowship—in everything we do. Our signature projects this year will be 'Drishti' (treatment of avoidable or correctable blindness – Gift of Vision), 'Cherry Blossom' (Anemia detection & treatment), and 'She Can & She Will' (empowering Women through the sport of Boxing) in addition to our other ongoing projects.

RI President's Message

RTN. STEPHANIE A. URCHICK

As we begin a new year of service, let us not forget the importance of every member of Rotary.

We need your leadership now more than ever if we are to make every club and district an irresistible experience. Rotary has a chance to capture the world’s attention and realize possibilities beyond our expectations. But we must build on the work that has come before us if we are to reach our goals, such as defeating polio and unlocking the power of girls and women.

Rotary offers people of action a chance to connect and find belonging and this fellowship gives us the potential to improve our communities and the world. By following Rotary’s Action Plan and helping make sure all members feel a sense of belonging in their club, you have a unique opportunity to inspire members to new heights of service.

Our ability to create lasting change begins with our family of Rotary. Together, it is within our power to bring healing in a divided world.

Join me in making Rotary a source of strength for those who need it most, within and beyond our membership. Let this be the year we harness The Magic of Rotary and let Rotary be known as an organization that takes care of its members and the people we serve.

It is within your power to help make Rotary a beacon of goodwill and fellowship in every community.

Remember that your work can and will change the world with The Magic of Rotary.

District Governor Message

RTN. SHITAL SHAH

As the new Rotary year 2024-25 sets in, the magical journey of District 3131 begins with the “ROTARY CHATRA CHAYA” project – an initiative that will go a long way in engaging members and enhancing the public image of Rotary by providing shelter to poor street vendors. I appreciate all Rotary Clubs for their overwhelming response to this unique project.

District 3131 is on the rise & our journey has been progressive & impressive year after another. We have set high benchmarks for our foundation giving & the quantum of service projects we undertake in all 7 Focus areas. Participation in clubs in youth activities & structured programs has been fabulous. Our reach out to corporate for tapping CSR funds for Rotary projects has been phenomenal. As we move ahead, let us all trive to achieve new milestones for 3131.

RI President Stephanie Urchick has unveiled the theme for RY 24-25 “The Magic of Rotary “.

It is magic when we Rotarians transform lives by providing education to illiterates, change lives when we provide pure drinking water, developing villages, and eradicate dreadful diseases like polio. As true Rotarians, the responsibility lies upon us to continue our service to the deprived communities.

We have thoughtfully launched the Playing 11 initiative under the District 3131 thrust area. Activities & projects listed in Playing 11 will create a huge impact on communities in every corner of our District. The CHAUKAR & SHATKAR initiatives are well-informed in District forums and I expect every club to participate in this super initiative. The rotary action plan begins with membership. Adding new members and engaging them in Rotary projects will make our clubs vibrant. Be sure that the member experience matters the most in retaining them.

In the end, let me touch upon 4 pillars that will bring the magic of Rotary:-

  1. Bringing Youth to Rotary
  2. Getting Women in Rotary
  3. Tap CSR funds by reaching out to the corporate world &
  4. Your wholehearted donation to Rotary Foundation.

Wish you all the best for the rocking and the most happening RY 2024-25.
